AAH just completed the construction of a new 2,000 square foot building that will be utilized for equipment and lumber storage. AAH will begin stocking both rough cut and planed lumber in 2021 in this facility. AAH is acquiring a moisture meter and will be able to monitor the moisture content of the rough lumber during the air drying process. If demand warrants, AAH may build a 20 x 8 foot kiln in the future.

The hardwoods business selectively harvests various species of mostly hardwood logs on the farm. Red Oak, White Oak, and Poplar are the primary species. Appalachian will cut logs for those who transport the wood to the mill. Appalachian offers planer services, and will provide custom trim manufacturing in the future.
